I love the sound of snapping a zippo lighter closed. I don’t know about you, but I also love the smell of lighter fluid. Cigarettes always tasted better when lit with a zippo lighter.
Now that I have retired, I look forward never again having to sit through another absurd business presentation. Begone “Business Speak!”
It’s October 8th and I’m beginning to see signs of Christmas. Holiday displays and Christmas music have begun creeping into our lives whether we like it or not.
I love Christmas and I especially enjoy classic, Christmas tunes. So, I thought I’d get into the spirit of things and share this link with you! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
A few weeks ago, my wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the annual Flower and Antique Show at Lyndhurst Mansion in Tarrytown, New York.
This show welcomes the spring season with a series of events and tours held at the mansion. To learn more, click on the link. http://lyndhurst.org/
I took some photographs during my visit and I hope you enjoy them.
My annual trek to Southern Vermont has concluded. The fall colors are just beginning to emerge. I took some photographs which is something I look forward to every year.
While visiting Cape May, New Jersey, a town noted for its Victorian homes, I noticed that most of the street lights are restored, converted gas lit fixtures from the Victorian era. I also observed that the side streets in the downtown area are still cobblestone and horse drawn carriages are used to take visitors on guided tours of the town.
A dark night lit by these lamps, combined with a cobblestone road, old Victorian homes and the clip-clop sound of passing horse drawn carriages brings you back to a different time.
